Juliane Schäuble is the US Correspondent of “Der Tagesspiegel”, Berlin’s biggest newspaper. Before she moved to Washington, DC, in June 2018 she was heading the Political department of the paper where she was responsible for the front page and the political section.
Juliane Schäuble’s areas of expertise include more than twelve years of experience in the business and the political department of “Der Tagesspiegel”. On a regular basis, she was moderating discussions and appeared on TV. She has developed and organized a series of political conferences in cooperation with the “Freie Universität Berlin” and the “Schwarzkopf Stiftung”.
She earned her Master’s in Political Science at the University in Potsdam, Germany. Her studies included one semester at American University in Washington, DC, where she took classes in American foreign policy and worked part-time for the “American Council of Young Political Leaders” (“Washington Semester Program”).
Juliane took part in the “Manfred-Wörner-Seminar” of the German Marshall Fund and the Armed Forces Office of the German Defense Ministry (2003) as well as in the German-American “Young Leader’s Conference” of the Atlantik Bridge in 2008. 2006, she was a fellow of the Johanna-Quandt-Foundation for economic journalists. 2009/2010 she was trained in the “Media-Manager-Program” of the Publishing House “Georg von Holtzbrinck”. After her Israel-visit with American Jewish Committee’s program “Project Interchange” in 2011, she stayed involved with the organization and has taken part in several conferences of Germany Close Up as moderator or speaker.
In 2014, Juliane was involved in the “Collaborative Leadership Program” of the non-profit organization “Leadership Berlin – Netzwerk Verantwortung”. In the same year, she took part in the Young Leader’s Conference of the Council for the United States and Italy. 2015, she became a member of the “Transatlantic Core Group”, organized by the BMW Stiftung Herbert Quandt, Robert Bosch Stiftung, Atlantic Council and Chicago Council on Global Affairs.Return to Calendar
