About the Speaker
Laura Angelini serves as president of North America and Global Franchise Development for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc., and is also a sitting member of the Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Global Management Board.
Before joining Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Laura was Vice President, Global Strategic Marketing, Johnson & Johnson Ethicon Surgical Care. She started her career over 30 years ago in the automobile industry. In 1991 she joined Johnson & Johnson in Italy, where she later became responsible for introducing 1-DAY ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses to the Italian market. Laura has over 20 years of experience in the medical device sector in both sales and marketing.
After spending the first five years of her career with Johnson & Johnson in Italy, Laura received her first European assignment in 1997. Since then, she has continued to work internationally, including assignments at four different operating companies within the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, in new businesses as well as more wellestablished ones, and in developed markets in Western Europe in roles of increasing responsibility, both in strategic marketing and general management with P&L responsibilities.
Prior to moving to the US in 2012, Laura was Vice President for the medical device business in Eastern Europe, managing an organization of more than 1,000 people and commercial teams in 27 countries, including Russia, Poland and Czech Republic.
Laura is a native Italian and received her education in Rome, Italy at the University of Rome. She studied foreign languages and English literature with a thesis on Irish contemporary drama. Aside from Italian and English, she speaks French, German and basic Russian.
Passion, energy, focus and results orientation define her leadership style and strategic vision. She enjoys working with a team of diverse individuals that complement each other. In 2015, Laura was named one of the most influential executive women in optical by Vision Monday Magazine. She is also active in the Jacksonville University Parents Council.
Laura lives with her husband and son in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
