Amy Margerum Berg

Amy Margerum Berg is President of The Better Angels Society, a non-profit organization that supports the work, legacy and educational outreach of documentarian Ken Burns and other like-minded filmmakers.

Mrs. Berg served as Executive Vice President of Operations at the Aspen Institute from 2000 – 2016.

Amy was the City Manager for the City of Aspen, Colorado from 1991- 2000.  From 1989 to 1991, Mrs. Berg served as the Planning Director for the City of Aspen and Pitkin County. Prior to that she worked in Santa Barbara County as the Director of Comprehensive Planning and in the Energy Division focusing on offshore oil development.

She sits on the boards of the Jacksonville Civic Council, the Aspen Music Festival and School, Jacksonville University and the Colorado Mountain College Board of Overseers.

Mrs. Margerum Berg received a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Masters in Marine Policy with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Washington.  She lives in Jacksonville, Florida and Aspen, Colorado with her husband, Gilchrist Berg.
