2007-2008 Special Engagements:

  1. Two special viewings of the award-winning documentary, "Shakey’s Hill", in partnership with the Downtown Jacksonville Main Library.
  2. Council Director, Diane DeMell Jacobsen, Ph.D., presented a comprehensive analysis of the War on Terror and Prospects for Peace in Iraq and Afghanistan before a special gathering of about 150 Council members at the University of North Florida.
  3. Mr. Preston Haskell, Chairman of The Haskell Company, discussed "China and India: Challenges and Opportunities" at the Council’s Annual Meeting.
  4. Jacksonville World Affairs Council board member, Dr. Diane Jacobsen, presented an update on her analysis of challenges facing the United States in the Middle East and South Asia at the WJCT Studios.
