McAfee Scholarship

Improving International Education The World Affairs Council of Jacksonville recognizes the demand for well-rounded, globally-minded students and supports area colleges and universities in their mission to prepare students to understand, connect and effectively engage with their local and global community. The annual Ambassador Marilyn McAfee Scholarship Program currently presents a $2,000 scholarship award and a $1,000 scholarship award to undergraduate and graduate students with outstanding academic performance and career aspirations in international business, public administration, foreign affairs or military service. The scholarship is named in honor of the Council’s past president, Ambassador Marilyn McAfee, who devoted her professional career to serving in the Foreign Service and has been instrumental in the growth of the Council.

If there has been one thing that has impacted my life, it has been my experience studying abroad. The Ambassador Marilyn McAfee scholarship is unlike any other scholarship opportunity. Not only does it open doors to travel, but it exposes you to the World Affairs Council - an organization of globally-minded individuals that will help you put your new-found international experience to use.
