We
are pleased to offer this special encore viewing of the
award-winning documentary, “Shakey’s Hill” in
partnership with the Main Library. In
1970, CBS Cameraman Norman Lloyd followed the 5th Battalion
7th Cavalry into the jungles of
Cambodia
. The mission was to destroy substantial weapons and supply
caches being used by the North Vietnamese Army and to destroy any
forces guarding them. Retrospective interviews 35 years
later with several of the same soldiers reveal the effect of
battle on those soldiers and the bonds which were created. “Shakey’s
Hill” recently won the Best Documentary Award at the GI Film
Festival in
Washington
. World Affairs Council member, General Maury Edmonds will
introduce the documentary and answer questions following the
film.
